APSS completes new MCE Insurance’s Rushden Claims Centre

APSS have transformed MCE Insurance’s conference, training and storage centre into a multi-functional office space, laced with references to the company’s rich history in motorcycle racing.

The newly renovated building will serve a variety of purposes for MCE, from everyday training and insurance exams to a variety of committees and conferences. The building is furnished with cutting-edge technology that will streamline everyday operations, as well as break-out areas to relax and reflect within the building.

Lincolnshire-based APSS began work at the Rushden office in April this year. Their goal was to channel the brand’s established identity within the two-wheeled motorcycle insurance industry, transforming the traditional into something completely unique and people-centric.

All aspects of the building were carefully selected to parallel MCE’s established brand – from a bespoke reception desk and employee lockers, to storage cupboards designed and manufactured by APSS from its Lincoln workshop.

The fit out included the refurbishment of MCE’s main office facilities across two floors. In line with the insurer’s brand colour palette, APSS designed the interior using red, blue and white, alongside contrasting blacks and greys – providing bold statements throughout the office space.

Matt Duck, operations director at MCE Insurance, added: “APSS has done a fantastic job at creating a building that reflects who we are, whilst also providing a space that facilitates individual and collaborative working. It’s vibrant and contemporary, and it’s exactly what MCE were looking for.”

Communal spaces, reception, meeting rooms and conference suites were softened in the design approach, to give a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for staff and guests to enjoy. A loft-style space was also created using textured brick-effect wall coverings and timber flooring – transporting the rooms away from the standard office-type environment.

Located on Kingsley Road, Lincoln, APSS are specialists in commercial interiors, office refurbishments, retail interior fit outs and construction solutions – with national clients in sectors including education, healthcare, industrial, commercial and retail.
