Client Brief

After a long time looking for the perfect location for their prestigious Design Store, Staffan Tollgard (the award-winning architectural interior design service and House and Garden top 100 designers) thought the Grosvenor Waterside was a great fit. Situated in central Belgravia, with views over the water, the site gave them over 3000 square feet of prime retail space, APSS were the principal contractor for the project.

Solution

APSS was appointed as the main contractor for the complete project and was given the task to build a flagship space capitalising on its volume: six metre ceilings and 20 metres of floor to ceiling windows. The aim was to create an amazing backdrop for the very carefully curated items of furniture, lighting, rugs, fabrics and accessories that Staffan Tollgard had selected from nearly ten years of working in the design industry.

Outcome

Following an intense 12-week build programme, the space came together exactly as Staffan Tollgard had envisioned and its international visitors appreciate the calmness of the space.

The store is filled with light and has a beautiful, polished concrete floor. The carefully constructed mezzanine space houses their design teams so they are able to offer retail and trade clients a comprehensive interior design service under one roof, in the heart of the great and good of British design.
